Ok, you have decided to go with an elopement, instead of a bigger traditional wedding. Next on your checklist is  to book a photographer. It doesn’t seem like the hardest thing to do in preparation for your big day. However, a lot of people can’t figure out how long to hire a photographer for when it comes to elopements.  2 hours? 4 hours? 8 hours? 2 days?  If you are having trouble figuring this out….no worries, I am here to help! : )

You have decided to forego all of the extras of a big wedding, when you think about booking an elopement photographer, you only need them for a couple hours right?  You’re only going to need some pictures of your ceremony, some pretty couples photos,  and easy peasey, you are done! But why settle for just a couple hours when you can make it a whole day adventure? This is your chance to design your dream wedding day…what you want without any other opinions and beliefs getting in the way.

Your elopement day is a story. You want to look back on this day and relive every magical moment and emotion. From getting ready together, or separately,  to just relaxing with your partner at the end of the day. The more you capture, the more you will remember about this day, and how you felt. You can choose to do first look photos,  have a picnic on a cliff top,  top, a first dance on the beach at sunset, or a champagne or sprite toast in the hot tub!  The options are unlimited!  It’s called your special DAY ,not your special HOURS, so why not make it the BEST DAY EVER!!!  Pictures of all moments from your elopement, will make the amazing day just last longer. Plus they will leave a legacy for your children and grandchildren, and will be able to evoke emotions from those who could not be there to celebrate with you. The images will tell a story that they can see and feel like a part of.

Another pro about hiring a photographer for the whole day, is you can show people who didn’t go with you on your elopement. This is especially handy if your elopement was only you and your partner. Then you can show the pictures to your friends and family and they can feel like they were actually there.

Don’t forget, this is your day. This means you can decide how long to book the photographer. You are designing the wedding of your dreams, so you get to choose  how it is captured. It is truly your decision at the end of the day.
